How the PolyLyser Works

The PolyLyser uses HyperLysing technology to move the sample tube in a controlled motion that drives the lysing matrix from one end of the tube to the other. This end-to-end bead motion mechanically disrupts samples for downstream DNA, RNA, and protein extraction.

Efficient grinding can reduce the processing time needed to break down a sample. Select the lysing matrix and run conditions for your material and the molecules you want to recover.

Downstream Workflows

Prepare lysates for DNA, RNA, protein, and metabolite extraction. Choose a compatible purification method, such as a column-based, magnetic-bead, or reagent-based protocol.

Purified material may be used in workflows such as qPCR, RT-qPCR, sequencing, western blotting, and mass spectrometry, subject to the quality requirements of the selected method.

Temperature-Sensitive Samples

Cryogenic processing provides an option for frozen samples and workflows where controlling heat is important. Select processing and extraction conditions appropriate for RNA, proteins, and other sensitive targets.

Choose a Platform for Your Tubes

Tube sizeCapacity per runFormat
2 mL12 tubesStandard screw-cap lysing tubes
15 mL2 tubesCompatible screw-cap tubes
50 mL2 tubesCompatible screw-cap tubes

Use the matching platform for each tube format. Confirm platform selection and tube compatibility when ordering.

Cryogenic and Room-Temperature Use

The tube platforms support both cryogenic and room-temperature processing. Select the mode and preparation procedure that fit your sample and extraction protocol.

Selecting a Lysing Matrix

Choose the bead material and size for your sample. Different tissues and microorganisms can require different grinding conditions, even when they use the same tube format.
