Lysing Matrix D, 15 mL tubes are optimized for bead beating lysis of softer animals and plants tissues, primary for the purpose of RNA extraction. (For the DNA extraction the Lysing Matrix A is recommended). It contains optimized quantity of processed 1.4 mm diameter zirconium silicate beads. Its often used as the most ubiquitous bead beating media for isolation of RNA from animals tissues such as brains, spleen, lungs, or from plant tissue such as roots, flowers, fruits, and leaves, as well as for isolation of RNA from cells and from cell cultures, and processing of the intact insects. Lysing Matrix D is chemically inert and will not bind nucleic acids and is compatible with any downstream purification protocol.
