Lysing Matrix H is used for lysis of tough and hard samples such as bacterial colonies, biofilms and organisms with shells or exoskeletons ranging from diatoms to insects. This lysing matrix enables grinding, homogenization and lysis of toughest and hardest samples under the mildest condition, and thereby preserves the integrity of released macromolecules such as RNA, DNA and proteins.
Lysing matrix H is also useful for isolation of intact organelles from hard samples. It is distinguished by a light brown cap and each impact-resistant 2.0 ml tube contains 2 mm diameter glass beads and 2 mm zirconia beads. Lysing Matrix H is effective at breaking very tough and hard samples, including organisms within a tough or dense exterior matrix.
