About Rotaprep

RotaPrep is the home of HyperLysis technology, the world's fastest homogenization technology that is revolutionizing sample preparation for life sciences research. Our California-based company develops ultrafast lysing systems and optimized lysing matrices for bead beating applications, serving research institutions, biotechnology companies, and laboratories worldwide. Since 2007, we have been empowering the bead beating community through innovative OEM partnerships and cutting-edge sample preparation solutions. As a proud USA-based, citizens scientists owned company, all of our manufacturing activities take place in California, ensuring the highest quality standards and supporting American innovation in life sciences instrumentation.

Our Mission

RotaPrep is dedicated to eliminating the sample preparation bottleneck that has long constrained molecular biology workflows. We develop revolutionary systems, methods, and kits that transform how research institutions and companies perform sample lysis, homogenization, and grinding of biological samples. Our patented HyperLysis technology processes even the most challenging samples, including spores, gram-positive bacteria, seeds, bones, tumor tissues, soil, and fecal matter, in seconds rather than minutes.

Revolutionary HyperLysis™ Technology

At the heart of our innovation is HyperLysis™, our patented sample preparation technology that fundamentally changes the physics of bead beating. Unlike traditional homogenizers that rely on short oscillations, HyperLysis™ uses continuous circular motion to drive beads through the complete length of sample tubes. This breakthrough approach achieves complete cellular disruption in 10 to 15 seconds while maintaining cooler temperatures and delivering superior reproducibility across all sample types.

Our HyperLysis™ platform powers the MonoLyser™, PolyLyser™, and MegaLyser™ systems, providing scalable solutions from single-tube processing to high-throughput applications. Whether you need DNA extraction, RNA isolation, or protein purification, our systems deliver consistent, reliable results that accelerate your research timeline.

Advanced Lysing Matrices

Beyond our revolutionary homogenizers, RotaPrep has developed optimized lysing matrix formulations specifically designed for bead beating applications. Our matrices are engineered to work synergistically with HyperLysis motion, maximizing energy transfer while minimizing sample heating. These carefully crafted bead combinations ensure optimal disruption across diverse sample types, from delicate cellular structures to the toughest biological materials.

American Innovation Excellence

As a USA-based, citizen-owned company with all manufacturing operations in California, RotaPrep represents the best of American scientific innovation and engineering excellence. Our commitment to domestic production ensures rapid customer support, consistent quality control, and direct relationships with our users. This approach allows us to continuously refine our products based on real-world feedback from researchers across diverse applications.
