Lysing Matrix I is used to dry grind variety of hard samples such as spores, exoskeletons, fossils, shells, and archaic organisms. It is distinguished with clear caps. Each impact-resistant 2.0 ml tubes contains 2 mm diameter zirconia beads and a 4 mm black ceramic bead. Lysing Matrix I main applications are in dry grinding of plant tissues, animal tissues, insects, wood, and archaic samples.

Lysing Matrix I is used primarily for the dry grinding and homogenization of hard samples such as spores, exoskeletons and biomineralized and fossilized shells. This matrix can also be used for the wet lysis and homogenization with maximized cascade impaction and minimized shearing.
