Lysing Matrix I is used primarily for the dry grinding and homogenization of hard samples such as spores, exoskeletons and biomineralized and fossilized shells. This matrix can also be used for the wet lysis and homogenization with maximized cascade impaction and minimized shearing.
Lysing matrix I is distinguished with the clear caps and each impact-resistant 2.0 ml tubes contains optimized mixture of the 2 mm diameter zirconia silicate beads and a 4 mm ceramic bead.
